Served on board HMS Pozarica during Convoy PQ17, and despite his failing health continues to wear his Atlantic Star and the Russian commemorative award with immense pride. Now confined to a nursing home in Cambridgeshire Dad suffers from aspiration phneumonia. If you knew my Dad, or perhaps served with him in the cold waters of the Atlantic please contact me.......

It is my sad duty to report that Andy Lovesy, formerly of RNAS Culdrose passed away on September 15th. He had been suffering from liver cancer, diagnosed last October, at which time he was given 18 months.

The funeral service is at Yeovil Crematorium this Friday 26th Sept, 2008, at 1100 hrs. His daughter Kelly would be delighted if any old RN chums wished to attend. Andy was the lead guitarist of several bands while an Artificer Apprentice. He went on to be an outstanding helicopter pilot, famed for landing his sea-king in the oggin and taking off again safely when on the Ark Royal. Andy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Greetings from Ocala, Florida, home of one of the finest veterans parks in the U.S. I served on HMS Punjabi (sunk in a collision with HMS King George V while covering PQ15 to Russia), and HMS Quorn, sunk in August, 1944, but long after I had left the ship. Anyone out there still on this mortal coil from either ship?

My husbands great uncle served in the Royal Navy during WW11 and was killed in action. The NZ Navy archives cannot help locate records because he served in the English Navy before the NZ navy existed and I cannot find his name anywhere. His name is William Campbell born 1894 at Coromandel, New Zealand. Oral history says he died in the battle of the Hood.
A navy researcher has seen the picture attached and advised me that he has a rating of Petty officer or below.
Any information would make this researcher very grateful. His nephew, my father-in-law is still alive at 96yrs old and it would be great to let him know more.
