Does anyone know where to find a crew list for the HMS Duke of York? My Great grand father was on there. Glanville Williams from South Wales, Port Talbot. He was a cook and he was friends with Harry Smith. Please contact me on my E-mail if you have any information. Thanks.

Regards

Casey Louise Denner.

I just found this great site and wonder if there are still some of my old shipmates around (we are all in our late 80's) who served on HMS Punjabi and HMS Quorn in WWII. Punjabi was sunk by being rammed in thick fog on Russian convoy duty by HMS King George V, and Quorn was sunk soon after D-Day with heavy loss of life I understand. I was picked up out of the Arctic by HMS Martin, sister ship to HMS Marne, mentioned in one of your messages on this site. Ken Tipper, Ocala, Florida

I am searching for information about my great grandfather Stoker Petty Officer Sidney Frank Day. He was killed in action on Febuary 22nd 1943 while assisting the HMS Weyburn that was sinking. He went down with the ship while helping survivors. He has been mentioned in some books about the incident.

hello,
i am wanting information regarding the ship my father served on in ww2, it was called the ISLE OF GUERNSEY, he was the Cheif Stoker/LCA driver. He was involved with the D-DAY landings of Canadian troops on Juno beach. I would love to hear from anybody who had served with my father or knew him or the ship. His name is Leslie Goundry(Les the Geordie to his friends), all the information regarding the ship i have is it was once used as a hospital ship.

thank you

I am trying to help the daughter of P.O. Peter Smail, Shipwright artificer aboard HMS Bonaventure, the X-craft depot ship when the X craft attacked Tirpitz in 1943, and who served into the 50s or 60s, to obtain niformation about her late father. Pete Smail was my good friend and colleague in the Civil Service from the 1970s till his death in the nineties. If any of his shipmates have tales to tell I would be very grateful if you would contact me and I can direct you to his daughter or pass on your stories.
