I;m hoping someone out there can help me. I live in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. We have a Lt. Cdr. in the RN that works with us. He is a foreign national assigned to our base. January '09 he is retiring from the service. We have looked all over the Internet for any retirement type customs and traditions for his ceremony. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. He is such a great guy and we have loved having him here. We want this to be very special for him. I appreciate it and look forward to hearing from you guys out there.

I have a Royal Naval Association diary which I found some years ago but has just come to light again following a house move.
It is for 1954 & belonged to a J H Palmer (rank unknown) of The Red House, in Surrey. A ship is mentioned but is unreadable apart from what looks like HMS Fat..... The owner played a lot of rugby and the names Jack, Fred, Taffy and Paddy Barber are referred to along with Peter Mears & Andy McDonald.

If anyone or their families recognize this at all, I would be happy to return the diary to the rightful owner
