| Hello
I left the service in 1993 after my 22 and now I'm nearly 55 and unhappy with my working life, I'm considering early retirement and I have lots of hobbies, one of which is writing fiction.
I realise I will not be well off, but money is not everything and I'm prepared for a modest lifestyle.
Can anyone offer advice, has anyone else done this kind of thing, do I just give up my day job and start to live on my pension or do I need to inform the establishment in some way?
Any comments gratefully accepted, many thanks.

| I am trying to find out what happened to the HMS Holly on July 12th 1942. My dad David G.B. Allan was the only person killed on board.I believe the Holly was on her way to West Africa. She was a trawler being used as a mInesweeper. The ship was not hit by torpedo or by enemy aircraft but I have no information as to what happened to my dad. If anyone has any info. about the Holly or who sailed on her or knew my dad please let me know.I believe the Holly was sold to the Dutch Navy about 1943. | |

We hold an annual reunion in various locations in the UK and produce a quarterly newsletter.
We are planning a return trip to Malta in June 2008 and our 2008 UK reunion will be in October and held in Bournemouth | |

I'm sure that he would like to catch up with some of his old naval comrades. Still in touch with Mick Doran and his brother in law, Thomas Dearden (PTI and late of HMS Belfast).
Many thanks

| Hello, on behalf of my mother I am trying to research the circumstances surrounding the loss of her brother Hugh Farrell during WWII. He was an ord. seaman onboard HMS Camito, which was sunk by U97 in the Atlantic on 6 May 1941, while escorting a captured Italian tanker, the Sangro, home. Some survivors were picked up by HMS Orchis. Any information about the circumstances would be most welcome. Thank you. | |
